“When Jeralyn Gerba left the world of fashion media to start her own travel company in 2010, she didn’t think of herself as a global investor at first. She and her business partner envisioned something more experiential for their fledgling travel company, Fathom. Their new endeavor would dive deeply into different cultures and provide travelers with unique, immersive experiences: a hotel located within a cave in Italy, say, or an insider’s trip down the Nile, guided by a local team.”
